About Jean-Paul
Who I Am
For me, technology has never been just about machines and materials. It’s a way of thinking, connecting and improving. From an early age, I was curious about how things work, but even more about how you can use technical knowledge to streamline processes, help people grow and create real impact.
My career started in the aluminium industry, expanded into metal trading, and developed further in the world of laser cutting and machining. Wherever technology and commerce meet, that’s where I feel at home. The combination of technical expertise and customer focused thinking runs through everything I do. Today, I work at Hemimex where I contribute to growth, innovation and change together with my colleagues. I do this with pleasure, dedication, and a strong focus on the people behind the processes.
Areas of Expertise
The manufacturing industry is changing fast. New materials, shorter lead times and increasingly demanding customer needs require people who not only understand technology, but can also translate that knowledge into smart, practical decisions.
Material and processing knowledge
I have broad and up-to-date knowledge ofstandard metals, non-ferrous materials such as copper, brass, bronze and aluminium, as well as technical plastics. I understand how materials behave, which processing methods suit each application and how to reduce waste in the production chain.
Bridge between engineering and commerce
I speak the language of engineers, operators and buyers alike. Thanks to my background in both sales and production, I can connect customer needs, processes and technical constraints and clearly explain this to all stakeholders. Whether it’s a technical issue, production method or customer advice: I respond quickly and contribute practical solutions.
Market insight and strategic thinking
My experience in various roles enables me to spot trends and emerging needs early on. I’m not afraid to ask deeper questions than the standard quote request: where is the real challenge? What does it deliver? Is there a simpler path? This approach helps businesses move forward without unnecessary complexity.
Process optimisation and change management
Efficiency is in my DNA. I spot bottlenecks quickly and think in terms of structure, without becoming rigid. I set clear goals, actively involve people and work towards lasting improvements. No top-down instructions, but working together. That’s what works best.
Professional Background
I started my career in production, progressed through inside sales, and eventually took on full commercial responsibility. I’ve worked for companies in aluminium extrusion, metal trading, laser cutting and industrial supply. Alongside my commercial roles, I’ve also developed training courses, contributed to strategic direction and been closely involved in process design and team development.
I also have experience as an entrepreneur: I co-founded Del Nord, a niche brand for barbecues. In that role, I combined product development, logistics and brand positioning into one hands-on job. While I’m now fully back in the industrial sector, I still carry that entrepreneurial mindset with me every day: pragmatic, solution-oriented and committed.
Vision & Values
I believe that technology only adds value when it helps people and processes move forward. In every project, I look for solutions that truly work: both in practice and for the long term. Sometimes, that means saying ‘no’ or handing the job to someone else. But always with the customer’s interest and continuity in mind.
My approach starts with clear communication. Who, what, where, when, why and how. Once those questions are answered, technology becomes a lot simpler. No surprises afterward. No assumptions, just clear agreements. That’s how I like to work.
What drives me? Connection. With colleagues, customers, suppliers or partners. My greatest satisfaction comes from achieving things together. And when things get tough, I’m the one who stands firm. I keep my word. That’s not a strategy, it’s simply how I work.
